Lucy Lang s life is spiraling out of control For years she sacrificed her own needs to care for her half sister and alcoholic mother, only to be abandoned by both Now, at age , Lucy finds herself held back by memories and regret as she struggles to find her own purpose in life But when her sister needs a kidney transplant, Lucy is the only one who can save her life With the help of new friends and a man who won t give up on her, Lucy sets out on a journey to reunite with her sister and find the answers she so desperately needs Can she get past her emotions and have a chance at happiness With its colorful and endearing cast of characters, In Search of Lucy takes readers on a rollercoaster of emotions from sadness and heartache to happiness and hope I did enjoy this book it s obviously aimed at the american market therefore feels a bit sugary and unrealistic Maybe I ve been reading too many gritty London dramas depressing lives stories. However, if you like female lite chic lit this is the book for you I would definitely have it on my summer holiday reading list if I hadn t read it previously I did enjoy this book, although I thought it was quite a strange story A bit too good to be true Estranged sisters who never keep in touch then life saving surgery required Sisters make up Everybody loves each other and it all works out perfectlyA bit trite for my taste but ok to pass,a,wet afternoon Don t think I would bother to search out any other books by this author. I found the first part of the book OK but the middle bit is awful I felt no warmth for the characters at all When the main character decides to go in a car for a several day trip with a man she barely knows it all seemed too fantastic to believe The end bit after the trip was OK again During the middle I almost gave up and stopped reading altogether There are better books out there. All about the life of Lucy and the fall out with her sister and her mother, the two sisters are bought together over her sisters need for a kidney transplant Very passable read in terms ofwhat happens next A little predictable at times in terms of reactions to the enfolding drama, but, still well written A clear understanding of the emotions involved in surviving a chaotic loveless upbringing.and a nice flavour added in terms of coming to terms with it and moving ongood read when I started reading this book I was totally into it because it was so well written and it borough it home as well because I have also had a transplant I loved this book and I look forward to reading some. I never like to give up on a book but I nearly did in this one The story line was so unrealistic and out of touch with reality Totally unbelievable sorry A good story about a young woman searching for her own life after taking care of her mother and sister then finding herself alone then being contacted by her sister finding out that she is the only compatible person for the kidney transplant her sister needs She selflessly helps her sister and finds love herself in the process also she regains contact with all of her family and starts to find herself on her voyage of self discovery. Potential to be great Just didn t feel the spark unfortunately Not sure I would recommend it sadly Predictable plot and storyline
