Fantastic book Keegan is nothing short of the Messiah A very honest man and as a lifelong Newcastle fan I found part of the book hard to read of badly this legend was treated by the current regime One of the reasons Keegan is loved by us is because he is one of us and wants the same as us and that is a team that tries and plays entertaining football I would give anything to go back to the days under Keegan Forget the trophies I would settle to watch the football We were amazing under Keegan.

Excellent autobiography Kev tells it as is in Football today no punches pulled especially at his beloved Newcastle United under the shambolic ownership of Mike Ashley and his gang of Chronies who haven t got a clue how to run a football club and are hated by all the supporters But loved reading about his days at Liverpool and Hamburg and playing for England and how he met his wife Jean and bringing up a family and of course his dear old Dad who was his no1 fan, very funny stories throughout highly recommended read

A decent enough light read if you have nothing better to do.The problem with all football people who played to a very decent level is the samieness of each story. The obvious restrictions on what he can say about Ashley,Jimenez and wise is obvious. That would make a great warts and all read if he wasn t sacred of losing millions, and who can blame him.Overall just an ok ish read, from a top player and decent manager.

  4. Jamie Brogden Jamie Brogden says:

I have read the negative reviews of sameness and its restrictions due to possible libel Read this book for what it is, a good insight to his perm, the baseball bat incident and gaining a few pounds later in the story Enjoy.

A very honest account of life in football as a player and manager, showing the good and bad sides Maybe a good or very bad read if you are a Newcastle fan, but could give you a better insight into what goes on behind the scenes in this now multi million pound business Also shows you need a bit of luck on the the way to make it to the highest level.Very

KK is a hero of mine sadly he retired from playing before I was old enough to be interested in football but I obviously remember his managerial and media career very well He s a very honest and emotional man and I can relate to this I was hoping for a little bit in the sections on Liverpool, Hamburg and his first spell as manager of Newcastle possibly a missed opportunity to go into much detail about these eras in his career
