Im torn between 2.5 and 3 stars It s definitely a methodology that is similar to Benny Lewis and probably other polyglots focus on immersion tactics, pitfalls to avoid, put certain aspects into action ASAP, etc But in the same way that some of these people use there websites blogs content as ways to commit you to a membership this book keeps trying to commit you to Anki. One whole chapter 32 pages is devoted to using Anki The book is 88 pages The book costs around 5 on kindle I think the computer version of Anki is free, but the iOS app is 25 Regardless of the Anki price I didn t realize that Anki or Goldlist we re pretty much essential to the methodology The 3rd chapter makes me want to give it 2 stars, but a lot of the rest of the Anki techniques could be applied to other Flashcard formats software.Regardless there are parts of the book that are general gold Some really great tips and it s a quick read This book will not teach you Portuguese but it may accelerate your learning while helping you avoid burnout.
