This is a slight but enjoyable contemporary romance novel which is part of a series featuring three women who were at school together and who have each taken different paths in life Zoe comes from a toxic family amusingly, all of whom have names beginning with the letter Z and escaped her life straight after school and is now a celebrity chef In making the choices that she did she abandoned her boyfriend Luke who had a future in their small town she did this for his benefit but it has scarred both of them On returning to the town she has had to face up to her past, the damage that has been done and her difficult family circumstances as well as working out if there can be a future for her and Luke as well as a fraught past. There is nothing surprising here and you can work out the plot from a very early stage but the writing is fresh and easy to read The author includes lots of banter and little amusing touches which keep you engaged This book passes the time very nicely and enjoyably.

This author is one of my favourites and I ve loved all her books until this series In my opinion the first story in this series and this one are about the baddies and the romance comes second Will read the final book in this series for closure and in the hope I can give a positive review.

A great story I love Catherine Bybees writing No fantastic thrills or excitement just Catherine at her story telling best Written without the angst and masses of erotic passages which many authors seem to think is needed, this story was enjoyable and quite gripping from start to finish Highly recommended like all her books I ve read.
