I liked Anderton as a player and thought the whole Sicknote tag was a bit unfair, but I thought he would have at least had a bit of a sense of humour about it by now He hasn t His relentless moaning and being outraged becomes boring. Also dreadfully patronising in places I played with Teddy Sheringham, who went on to win the treble with Manchester United yes Darren, we all know that And we know you liked playing with him. That said, his thoughts on Hoddle and the whole England set up are interesting and it is quite sad when the realisation hit him he wanted to retire.Worth a read, but there are better and interesting biographies out there. I bought this as a Tottenham fan who wanted to know some about Darren Anderton.I found myself skipping through chunks of the book until i found some interesting bits. The most revealing aspect of this book is about the sheer level of injuries he picked up, and the awful level of medical care he received at Tottenham, which clearly affected his fitness and recovery. Bought this book because I remember watching Anderton during Euro 96 and World Cup 98 Lots in here that I didn t know about what happened behind the scenes both at Spurs and in the England camp Well written and honest.
